Counterfeit Viagra is on a rise in Holland
November 15, 2005
Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, the maker of Viagra,
is warning consumers in Holland about the rise of counterfeit Viagra
in the country. According to them, 97% of the erectile
dysfunction(ED) pills sold in Holland are counterfeit.
The radio campaign on spamming of drugs is based
on information from a study by the Dutch National Institute for
Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). The RIVM says these counterfeit
pills are a posing a great risk to the public health. These fake
drugs are going to hamper men’s
health and sexuality.
Pfizer continues to battle the spam, as their drug
seems to be one of the most spammed around. It's pretty common for
people of Holland to receive dozens of emails every day offering
some form of Viagra or one of the
myriad other drugs available. In most cases, people get lured by
these mails and opt for buying the fake
drugs.
