Korea to market a new impotence drug
November 15, 2005
Foreign pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer,
the maker of Viagra which dominate the local market of
erectile dysfunction (ED) drugs in Korea will soon face competition.
The Korea Food and Drug Administration approved a product developed
by Dong-A Pharmaceuticals for treating
ED. The Korean firm plans to market its own drug from next month.
The product, called Zydena, is reportedly getting a favorable response

trials. Analysts say the local erectile dysfunction drug market
was worth US$64 million last year and is expected to reach $100
million this year.
