Generic Drugs
A generic drug is a copy of a brand name drug whose patent has
expired. When the company produce a new drug, it gives it two names.
One is the chemical name, which is long and complicated, so the
drugs are given a standard, shorter generic. Manufacturers will
usually give drugs brand names to identify that manufacturer's version
of the product. Generic Drugs are less expensive.
